2012 Hyundai Genesis Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, Hyundai has introduced an all-new model for 2012; the 5.0 R-Spec. This model packs a 5.0-liter V8 producing 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The Genesis has more standard equipment including LED headlight accents and daytime running lights, and outside mirror puddle lamps. Hyundai has added a more aggressive front fascia with larger intake openings, and redesigned headlights and taillights.

The award-winning Hyundai Genesis enters 2012 as strong as ever, unfortunate news for Mercedes-Benz and BMW. It has received exterior design improvements, new direct-injection technology for its Lambda V-6 engine, a new eight-speed automatic transmission, and enhanced chassis tuning. The 3.8-liter engine produces 333 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque, while the 4.6- liter engine produces 385 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque.

Hyundai has made the Genesis exterior even better for 2012, giving it a more aggressive appearance. This starts with the new front fascia and larger intake openings. Also, the headlights have been redesigned, adding LED accents and daytime running lights. The 17-inch alloy wheel design has been freshened. Adding to the sporty design is the side window surround that received a sporty brushed aluminum finish. New dual asymmetrical exhaust tips have been added, along with a new rear bumper fascia.

The interior of the 2012 Genesis is roomy, with a total volume of 125.3 cubic feet, and a cargo volume of 15.9 cubic feet. The interior is covered with woodgrain accents. Hyundai offers a seven-inch navigation touch screen with features such as XM Nav Traffic. The 4.6 and R-Spec models come standard with leather-wrapped dash and door trim inserts.

It all starts with the new R-Spec model. This sedan packs a lot of power with 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. However, there’s no mistaking that this is a large sedan with a curb weight of 4046 pounds, although the new eight-speed automatic transmission should improve driving dynamics.

The 2012 Hyundai Genesis has 8 airbags: dual front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side impact airbags, and roof-mounted side curtain airbags. A four-channel, four-sensor anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution is also standard.
