2011 Toyota Avalon Review, Price, Specs

2011 Toyota Avalon Review, Price, Specs, what car reviews, The 2011 Toyota Avalon is redesigned with a wider grille, projector headlights, fog lights integrated into the trapezoidal bumper, reshaped taillights with LED lighting and dual exhaust. The interior is designed to be comfortable and spacious. The new instrument panel includes Optitron gauges with graduated white illumination and white pointers. The steering wheel contains controls for Bluetooth hands-free phone, audio system, climate-control system and information center. The Avalon is powered by a 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission and EPA fuel economy ratings of 20 mpg city and 29 highway.

Powertrains and Performance
The front-wheel-drive 2011 Toyota Avalon is motivated by a 3.5-liter V6 rated at 268 hp and 248 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard. The EPA’s fuel mileage estimates for the Avalon stand at 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, making it one of the most fuel-efficient full-size sedans available.

Safety
Standard safety equipment on the 2011 Toyota Avalon includes antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver-side knee airbag.
In government crash tests, the Toyota Avalon earned a perfect five stars in all frontal- and side-impact categories. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the Avalon earned the top score of “Good” for its protection of occupants in frontal-offset and side-impact crashes.

Interior Design and Special Features
The Toyota Avalon’s interior feels upscale and inviting thanks to its glowing gauges, attractive and ergonomic control layout and high-quality materials. This year’s redesigned dash and center stack, along with standard wood and metallic accents further the luxury ambience, making the Avalon impressively similar to its upscale cousins from Lexus.

The front seats are wide and accommodating, and with the Limited you also get heated and ventilated seats with a seat-cushion length adjuster. The rear seats are very comfortable as well. Legroom is abundant even by full-size sedan standards, and the rear seats boast a manually reclining back that allows passengers to stretch out on long trips. A 6-footer can sit in back with more than enough knee- and headroom, and with a nearly flat floor, getting three into the backseat on carpool day is no problem.

One minor annoyance is the inability to fold the rear seats (the trade-off for the reclining feature). The trunk measures 14.4 cubic feet, smaller than what’s available in other full-size sedans.

Driving Impressions
Not surprisingly, the 2011 Toyota Avalon is at its best on the open highway. The cabin remains quiet, the ultra-smooth V6 engine has plenty of passing power and the suspension swallows up road imperfections without drama. The Avalon is no athlete, though, so those interested in a slightly more involved driving experience should consider the Buick LaCrosse. The Avalon’s steering is too light to feel sporty, but it responds to driver inputs in a precise, fluid manner. Additionally, a tidy turning circle makes the Avalon feel unexpectedly maneuverable on tight city streets.

2012 MINI Coupe Price, Review, Specs

2012 MINI Coupe Price, Review, Specs, what car reviews, The MINI Coupe is MINI’s new 2seat coupe with a distinctive flat silhouette and stepped up rear end design. The MINI Coupe is offered with the same drivetrains as the other models and includes a John Cooper Works version. MINI describes the chassis, weigh balance and body structure as geared toward driving fun and is offered with exclusive colors and materials, the roof in contrasting colors and a new version of the optional Sport Stripes. The two-seat configuration allows for cargo stowage behind the seats, rear luggage area with a high liftgate and a two-piece luggage compartment cover in a three-dimensional design.

The 2012 MINI Coupe is MINI’s new two-seat coupe that is distinguished from the other MINI models by a unique flat roof and stepped up rear end design. The MINI Cooper Coupe is powered by a 121-horsepower 1.6-liter engine and the Cooper S Coupe offers a 181-horsepower version with a twin-scroll turbocharged and direct injection. The John Cooper Works Coupe bumps the power to 208 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque from the turbo engine. The unique silhouette of the MINI Coupe incorporates steeply raked A-pillars and windshield, integrated roof spoiler and active rear spoiler.

The Coupe represents the brand’s foray into what it refers to as the super compact sports car class, an attempt to maintain the traditional MINI design ethos while creating a car optimized for spirited motoring.

The Coupe distinguishes itself visually with an unusual “helmet” roof (available in black, red and silver) supported by black pillars. There are oval-shaped recesses in the roof liner for increased headroom inside, while the rear section of the roof houses an active spoiler that extends automatically at 50 mph to optimize airflow. The steeply raked windshield is slanted an additional 13 degrees compared with a normal Cooper for a sportier look.

For all of the structural and aesthetic changes, the Coupe is still heavily based on the MINI Cooper. The pair share the same engine options, which in the case of the base coupe is a 1.6-liter inline-four cylinder. The little engine sports parent company BMW’s flexible VALVETRONIC variable valve timing technology and produces 121 horsepower and 118 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 revs, good for a quoted zero-to-60 mph time of 8.3 seconds. It certainly won’t be winning any drag races, but it won’t live in fear of being smoked by semis, either.

Inside, the Coupe utilizes the traditionally quirky MINI control and instrumentation layout, with an enormous speedometer in the center of the dash and a steering-column mounted tachometer. In keeping with the nature of the car, sport seats are fitted as standard. A pass-through feature links the trunk to the passenger compartment for extra cargo versatility to go along with the car’s racy styling.

Befitting the brand’s quasi-premium intentions, the Coupe features a healthy list of standard equipment including speed-sensitive power steering, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, height-adjustable seats, air conditioning and an audio system with MP3-compatible CD player and AUX IN connection.

Optional equipment includes Park Distance Control, black headlight housing, xenon headlights, Adaptive Headlights, Comfort Access, automatic climate control, automatically dimming rear-view mirror and exterior mirrors, a storage package and for the aesthetically challenged, a rear luggage carrier rack. Entertainment options include a Harman Kardon sound system, Bluetooth mobile phone preparation, a USB audio interface and a navigation system with a 6.5 inch display in the center of the speedometer.

Additionally, a wide variety of racing stripes, graphics and unique upholstery options are available for customers desirous of additional personalization.

Active safety features include Dynamic Stability and Traction Control systems and, as an option, an Electronic Differential Lock Control that helps keep the inside front wheel from spinning excessively when exiting tight turns.
In the event of a collision, the Coupe comes equipped with dual front and head-thorax airbags, which are integrated into the sides of the seat backrests and protect the head, upper body and hip area from injury in the event of a side-on impact.

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Class Price, Review, Specs

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Class Price, Review, Specs, what car reviews, The Mercedes-Benz SLK is a compact two-seat roadster introduced by the luxury automaker back in 1997 and hailed as one of the first modern retractable hard-top convertibles. Preceding other hard-top convertibles like the Lexus SC, Chrysler Sebring and even Mercedes’ own SL, the SLK combined sporty good looks with a rear-wheel drive layout and slotted into the market as the automaker’s entry-level convertible.

The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class has long been known. In the past that wouldn’t necessarily be a good thing, but the completely redesigned 2012 SLK re-enters the fray with bold new styling, a fuel-efficient new base engine and most importantly, a lot more fun behind the wheel.

The SLK will be offered with a pair of engine choices. At the top of the heap is a 304-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 in the SLK350 that helps the roadster scoot to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds with its standard automatic transmission. The German automaker says that this combination is capable of a 23 mpg combined fuel consumption figure.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is a two-seat convertible with a retractable hardtop roof. There are SLK250 and SLK350 trim levels, which are primarily differentiated by engine.

Standard equipment on the SLK350 gets 18-inch wheels and sun-reflective leather upholstery, automatic wipers, LED running lights, auto-dimming rearview and driver mirrors, cruise control, automatic climate control, eight-way power front seats and four-way lumbar adjustment, driver memory functions, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, vinyl upholstery, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and an eight-speaker sound system with a CD player, HD radio and a USB audio jack.

Powertrains and Performance

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK350 gets a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The seven-speed auto is standard. In performance testing, it went from zero to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds — a few tenths slower than the Z4 sDrive35i. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 20 mpg city/29 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined.

Safety

Every Mercedes SLK comes standard with antilock brakes, traction and stability control, knee airbags and side airbags that cover the abdomen and head. Also standard are rollbars and the Attention Assist system, which monitors the driver for signs of inattention or drowsiness. The optional PreSafe system anticipates an imminent crash and automatically takes measures to better secure occupants.

Interior Design and Special Features

As the new SLK’s interior design closely mimics that of the Mercedes SLS, owners of the range-topping supercar may be a little miffed that their car essentially shares the same cabin with Benz’s cheapest sports car. Too bad for them, but SLK owners will enjoy the same restrained dash styling and top-notch materials and construction. Controls are virtually identical to those found throughout the Mercedes lineup, meaning you’re not missing out on functionality or features just because you’ve bought a two-seater.

Driving Impressions

The SLK has always been more about touring than outright sport, but thanks to its new suspension tuning and well-sorted steering, this is the best-handling SLK to date and delivers quite a few grins around the corners. Of course, the pinnacle of classic, razor-sharp roadster handling remains the Porsche Boxster, but falling short of that standard isn’t something to be ashamed of.

2011 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Specs, Prices, Reviews

2011 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Specs, Prices, Reviews, what car reviews, The 2011 Ferrari 599 GTB remains primarily unchanged for the new model year. The sexy coupe continues to feature Ferrari’s most powerful V12 engine which puts out an impressive 620 horsepower. Also available is the Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione (HGTE) package which was introduced in 2009. This takes the already formidable 599 and adds a modified set-up with stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar as well as new calibration settings for the magnetorheological shock absorbers.

The 599 GTB Fiorano is Ferrari’s most powerful V12-engined production car of all time. It features a 6.0-liter V12 engine derived directly from the Enzo supercar, producing 620 hp at 7,600 rpm and 446 pound-feet of torque at 5,600 rpm.

The car represents the latest interpretation of a theme that has seen such classics as the 250 GT, the 275 GTB, and the 365 GTB4. The Ferrari 599 GTB replaces the 575M Maranello, which followed the 550 Maranello introduced in 1996.

The 599 shares a basic design language and much of its chassis with the 612 Scaglietti. Bodywork was penned by Italian design house Pininfarina. Dynamically adjustable MagneRide suspension enables the 599 to offer a smooth ride for cruising, while still taking corners like a track-oriented supercar.

Interior and Materials options include a new Enzo Ferrari-inspired carbon-fiber steering wheel with LED rev display which can be specified along with a special carbon-fiber trim kit for the door panels, instrument panel, gear stick surround and sill kick panels.

A choice of various types of leather trim are available for the seats and interior. The passenger areas of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano are trimmed in leather while the driver area and controls boast more high-tech detailing in carbon-fiber and aluminum.

Some standard features include front bi-xenon headlamps and rear LED lights, dusk and rain sensors, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable steering-wheel column, hideaway radio/CD player and key with integrated volumetric anti-theft device with motion sensors.

2011 Jaguar XJ Reviews, Specifications, Prices

2011 Jaguar XJ Reviews, Specifications, Prices, what car reviews, The new for 2011 Jaguar XJ was redesigned from the ground up to continue the British brand’s sharper new image, first introduced via the smaller XF model. The XJ is generally available in four trim levels in SWB and LWB versions. The UAE and some other GCC markets will only see the Premium Luxury, Portfolio and SuperSport versions, all in LWB form.

The XJ Premium Luxury and the Portfolio will be available with a 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8. The XJ Portfolio can also be optioned up with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8. The SuperSport comes exclusively with a higher-tuned 5.0-litre supercharged V8. In 2011, a GCC-specific 3.0-litre V6 base model was introduced. All models are rear-wheel-drive mated with 6-speed automatic gearboxes.

Features include an aluminium body, air suspension, “Adaptive Dynamics” continuously-variable damping, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, “Active Differential Control” and quick-ratio power steering. Customers can have their choice in colours, veneers and leathers. Inside the car, there is a 12.3-inch LCD with virtual Instruments, Dual-View 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, optional 1200W Bowers & Wilkins system, hard drive and connectivity for portable audio and video devices via a “Media Hub.” Other available features include a panoramic glass roof, power accessories, automatic climate control, electric seats with ventilation, turning headlights and more.

Safety features include front, side and curtain airbags, stability control, ABS, pre-charged braking technology, blind-spot monitoring, tyre pressure monitor and more. The V6 is available in regular or long-wheelbase form, while the V8 is only available in long-wheelbase form, with regular-wheelbase models available upon request.
The XJ’s interior has also been seriously re-worked. Taking little in the way of influence from the smaller XF, the new XJ features a unique, wrap-around dash, complete with plenty of wood and leather accents. A large LCD screen is front and center while rounded air vents give the XJ’s cabin an air of sportiness.

A push button ignition and JaguarDrive Selector gear switch — the same found in the XF — bring the big cat up to speed with 21st century luxury motoring. Optional features include a 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system, hard drive-based audio and navigation systems and connectivity for external audio and video devices.

Technical features of the new XJ include an air suspension, Jaguar’s continuously variable damping Adaptive Dynamics system and Active Differential Control.

2011 BMW Z4 (sDrive30i, sDrive35is) Reviews, Specs, Prices

2011 BMW Z4 (sDrive30i, sDrive35is) Reviews, Specs, Prices, what car reviews, The 2011 BMW Z4 ranks 6 out of 8 Luxury Sports Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 33 published reviews and test drives of the BMW Z4, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

For 2011, the BMW Z4 amps up its aggression with the introduction of a new sports-tuned trim and an M Sport Package. Last year, the BMW Z4 was named a finalist in Motor Trend’s showdown for “Car of the Year.” With this year’s upgrades, it might just take the cake.

The 2011 BMW Z4 is sleek, sexy, luxurious and powerful. Its handling dynamics aren’t as sports-oriented as class leaders, but it makes a stellar choice for folks more interested in luxury than all-out sports performance. In fact, Edmunds writes, “Sleek styling, a high-class interior and plenty of performance combine to make the 2011 BMW Z4 one of the most desirable luxury roadsters available.”

For 2011, BMW enhances the Z4’s sports performance with M Sport Packages available for both the Z4 sDrive30i and sDrive35i. Plus, BMW introduces a whole new trim — the Z4 sDrive35is, which features more power and greater sports handling. It’s unlikely that the 2011 BMW Z4’s upgrades will enable it to overtake the Porsche Boxster, but they sure makes the compromise between luxury and sports performance easier to swallow.

Z4 Performance
Test drivers report that the 2011 BMW Z4 is fast and handles exceptionally well — especially the all-new performance-tuned sDrive35is trim. Edmunds writes, “Trust us; it’s a lot cooler than its clunky name sounds, boasting 35 additional horsepower from the 35i’s twin-turbo inline-6, enhanced steering and an M Sport package that adds adaptive suspension dampers, 18-inch wheels, an aerodynamic exterior kit and sport seats.” Still, some critics complain that the 2011 BMW Z4’s steering lacks proper feedback.

Z4 Exterior
The Z4’s exterior was revised in 2009 to look sleeker and more luxurious. “Many of the polarizing features of the previous Z4′s design have been toned-down, amounting to a much more elegant look,” writes Left Lane News. While other 2011 BMW Z4 trims look just like the 2010 model, the new sDrive35is features slight exterior revisions that make it stand out. An automatic retractable hardtop is standard on all trims.

Z4 Interior
Compared to the last generation BMW Z4, the 2011 model features higher-quality materials, more passenger room and enhanced convenience features. “Overall, the interior appears to have moved decidedly more upscale, especially when equipped with the optional leather-wrapped dash” writes Automobile Magazine. BMW’s iDrive system has even been tweaked to make it less complicated.

Z4 Safety
Though the 2011 BMW Z4 hasn’t yet been crash tested, it features loads of assuring safety technology — including a Dual-airbag Supplementary Restraint System. Plus, critics point out, its windows are larger than the previous-generation Z4 — so blind spots are kept to a minimum.

Z4 Reliability
The 2011 BMW Z4 reliability score shown is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power’s automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS). The 2011 BMW Z4 carries a four-year/50,000-mile warranty that includes all scheduled maintenance at no cost for the same period.

Nissan Juke Reviews, Specs, Prices

Nissan Juke Reviews, Specs, Prices, what car reviews, Nissan released its newest product called the Juke. Nissan Juke is one of the sport SUV model that will become a mainstay of the market to compete with the Nissan car class. With a strong physical form coupled with a 1500 cc engine HR15DE it is worth if Nissan hopes this new product will be a dream car in Indonesia. The fans also can not wait to see what kind of specs and prices which photo Nisaan Juke has a lot of pictures scattered on the internet.

Besides using the 1500cc engine, Juke also has a 1600 cc engine variants (MR16DDT) equipped with a turbocharger. All these advantages are offered with very reasonable prices.
The new Nissan Juke is the third ‘crossover’ model in the Japanese company’s range. Size-wise it sits in its own niche between traditional superminis such as the Ford Fiesta and small family cars like the Volkswagen Golf.

Interior

Its interior design falls short of the dramatic exterior. The dashboard, while perfectly acceptable, is disappointingly conventional, especially in a class where the Mini, Audi A1 and even the Ford Fiesta are as distinctive inside as out.

The painted console between the front seats – supposedly inspired by the fuel tank of a motorbike – is a token effort to inject some interest. The fact that none of the three paint finishes used in the interior match is a small niggle but one which typifies the general lack of attention to detail that gives its rivals far superior perceived quality.
The Nissan Dynamic Control system – standard on all but base Visia trim – is also unresolved. Its single, colour screen can display either climate control settings or, with the press of a button, three different driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport.

Grown-up on the road
On the road the Juke is well resolved on the whole. Its steering is a little numb but its feels more agile than its height would suggest.

It’s not as neat as a Mini or Fiesta when changing direction but this isn’t really a car to be driven flat-out. It’s much better to relax a little and enjoy the overall refinement.
It rides reasonably but a little more suppleness would be welcome over broken city streets when it can feel stiff-legged.
