2011 Honda Odyssey Price, Review & Picture

2011 Honda Odyssey Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, Odyssey is all new and features a roofline 1.6- inches lower than previous models and track, 1.4-inches wider. The i-VTEC 3.5-liter V-6 is now mated to a six-speed transmission in Touring trim that makes Odyssey competitive with its rivals. This new transmission and Honda’s variable cylinder management system help Odyssey achieve class leading fuel economy numbers. New range topping Touring Elite model makes its debut.

Since Honda wants to remain known as the manufacturer of the top selling American-marketed minivan, it is now struggling against competition from Toyota in the form of the Sienna and Chrysler variants. The 2011 Odyssey has since been introduced to the market with a novel, new design. The Odyssey is an eight-passenger front-drive minivan with a lower roofline and a wider track than previous models had. It has a new style, newer sheet metal, and a lightning bolt styling that is not all appealing.

You can get the Honda Odyssey in one of five trims including the Touring, EX-L, EX, LX, and the Touring Elite. The EX and EX-L trims host a navigation feature, and they come with rear seat entertainment like a wide screen television.

Odyssey upgrades thus far include the add-on option of a 3.5 Liter V-6 engine. It offers greater fuel economy as well. The Touring models also come with a six-speed transmission. At one time word had it that Honda would replicate Toyota’s 4 cylinder Sienna motor, but this option has yet to be offered.

The new Odyssey is lower, wider and significantly more angular, with a lightning bolt belt line which provides larger side window for the third row. The front end has smaller headlights and Honda’s new corporate grill. Honda covers the basics in impressive fashion, with many class leading storage solutions and tremendous interior room. Premiums include a powered tailgate, captains chairs, a chill chest, and ultra-wide video entertainment system for rear passengers.

Honda’s smooth spinning 3.5-liter V-6 can run on as few as three cylinders to conserve fuel. It is mated to a new 6-speed transmission that improves both fuel economy and acceleration. Odyssey’s track is now 1.4-inches wider than in previous models, which means more confident cornering. Touring Elite models get 18-inch wheels and 12.6-inch vented front brakes for even higher performance limits.

Three point seat belts are standard for all passengers as is traction and stability control. All outboard passengers have side curtain airbags, while the driver and front passenger have dual stage front and front side airbags.

2011 Honda Ridgeline Price, Review & Picture

2011 Honda Ridgeline Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The Ridgeline has received no major upgrades since a revision in 2009 and remains unchanged for 2011. Honda is rumored to be considering canceling the Ridgeline after this year. The Motor Trend Truck of the Year Award was earned by the 2006 Honda Ridgeline; it proved a unique approach to a compact truck. The truck was clearly criticized however, because it hosted an independent suspension, a reduced payload/towing capacity, and a carlike unibody. Its price had people debating if it was a good work truck offering. Sales were poor too. This vehicle was not created for farmers/contractors however. It was made for consumers that already appreciated non-automotive offerings by the carmaker. The Ridgeline’s carlike styling, impressive storage, and four-wheel-drive proved pleasing for such consumers.

The Ridgeline was crafted to meet the needs of a niche market; it has one bed and powertrain that diminished the vehicle’s success as a dependable truck offering. As a compact, it maintained the pricing of a full sized truck. This hurt sales too. Consumers are now moving away from trucks so Honda will probably discontinue the Ridgeline soon. If you like its unique style and are waiting for the price to drop, you may soon have what you’ve been waiting for all along.

Unibody construction a short bed with sloping walls means the Ridgeline has a look all its own. Features like the drop down/swing out tailgate, lockable in-bed trunk, and power folding mirrors also make it unique. The roomy interior is loaded with standard Honda features though and instrumentation the styling has a decidedly rugged twist. Gear changes are come via Honda’s only column shifter. Navigation is only available with RTL models.

The Ridgeline powertrain consists of a 250-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission powering all four wheels via Honda’s Variable Torque Management (VTM) system. Unibody construction and independent suspension means the Ridgeline drives like car. Too bad it also hauls like one: maximum payload and towing capacities of 1100 pounds and 5000 pounds are useful, but below the competition.

Three point seat belts are standard for all passengers as is traction/stability control. Outboard passengers have side curtain airbags, while the driver and front passenger have dual stage front and front side airbags.

2011 Suzuki Kizashi Price, Review & Picture

2011 Suzuki Kizashi Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, In the Kizashi’s case, it’s an entire philosophy, as the 2011 Kizashi is an all-new model from the ground up. Suzuki’s first serious midsize sedan entry focuses for the first time on building a superior vehicle not just offering a low-cost alternative. The Suzuki Kizashi for 2011 is a brand new model entering the sedan segment by the Japanese carmaker. The Kizashi is a popular mid-sized sedan offering which is sport-oriented. The vehicle has spectacular dynamics, a plethora of features, and good value. If you are on a budget, the Kizashi is the vehicle you have been anticipating.

The Kizashi comes with a single engine option: the 2.4 L 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated motor. It has four levels of trim, all of which are paired with AWD or front-wheel drive. The Gearbox options include a continuously variable tranny or a 6-speed manual transmission. If you want the Kizashi for sport, you will want the CVT offering.

The Kizashi’s amenities on standard models include things like dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless ignition/entry, and a multifunction steering wheel. Higher trims come with things like an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, leather steering wheel, and a power driver’s seat, among other amenities. The price of the Kizashi is competitive as well, thereby making this a leading sedan in its segment: one consumers cannot help but notice.

The Kizashi looks sporty from first glance. With a low roofline, short tail and 18-inch wheels as standard in the upper trim levels, Suzuki has built a sedan that just begs to be driven — and driven hard. While the Kizashi is short relative to the competition, overall interior space is very good, with plenty of room for those over six-feet tall in the front or rear seats. Cabin materials are high quality and a tilting/telescoping steering wheel is standard.

On the road, the Kizashi rides comfortably, yet firmly. Body roll is moderate, but the Kizashi turns in with an eagerness that is against the class norm and delivers minimal understeer, especially for a front-wheel-drive sedan. The 185-horsepower four-banger is more than up to the task and with the manual transmission, the Kizashi feels just like a mini sports sedan light, nimble, and willing. Front driver and passenger front airbags are standard on the Kizashi, as are front and rear side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags. Traction control and stability control are also both standard.

2011 Audi A6 Price, Review & Picture

2011 Audi A6 Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, With a next-generation model expected to debut soon, the 2011 Audi A6 receives only minor updates. The sportier S Line body is now standard on all models, as is Audi’s latest 3G MMI infotainment system with navigation. Premium Plus models pick up rear parking sensors, as does the Prestige model, which also gets a back up camera.

After six years of being on the road, the Audi A6 will undoubtedly have a new design, one that is long anticipated. Despite its aging platform, the Audi A6 remains seriously competitive, and still competes well since it sports the Quattro All Wheel Drive system and it is sold with several, decent engine options.

Minor cosmetic changes were offered in 2009 including the add-on of the 3.0 Liter, V-6 supercharged engine. In 2011, the Audi A6 enters the car segment with several more small alterations as its projected restructuring draws closer. The A6 is offered as a sedan or wagon, and the choice of engines is definitely nice, so this car is ideal for a variety of car buyers.

The Audi A6 has always had an attractive interior and body: this remains unchanged, but the chassis is clearly aging. The standard base A6 model has superior grippage on the road, but the suspension rides hard, the car has too much tire, and thus, the vehicle is noisy: a problem that is not remedied by the cabin of the A6.

With a next-generation model expected to debut soon, the 2011 Audi A6 receives only minor updates. The sportier S Line body is now standard on all models, as is Audi’s latest 3G MMI infotainment system with navigation. Premium Plus models pick up rear parking sensors, as does the Prestige model, which also gets a back up camera.

For 2011, the sporty S Line exterior package becomes standard on all models and includes upgraded door sills and front and rear bumpers. The exterior is otherwise unchanged from its 2009 model year update and will likely remain so until a new model arrives. Leather and power front seats are standard across the line, as is Walnut wood trim and a navigation system. Front seat heaters and a multi-function, leather-wrapped steering wheel are optional on lower models and standard on higher models.

While the 2011 Audi A6′s base 3.2-liter V-6 with its 265 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque is capable, the new 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 with its 300 horsepower and 310 pound feet is worth the extra coin and comes with standard AWD. Performance buffs can choose from a 4.2-liter V-8 (350 horsepower and 325 pound feet) and AWD or the sizzling S6 model with its 435 horsepower V-10 routed through sticky quattro AWD. Driver and passenger front and side airbags are standard, along with front and rear head curtain bags. Rear side airbags are optional. Electronic Traction Control and Stability Control are standard.

2011 Hyundai Azera Price, Review & Picture

2011 Hyundai Azera Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The 2011 Azera receives more power in each V-6: the 3.3-liter gets 26 more horses for a total of 260; the 3.8-liter gains 20 horsepower for 283. Both engines now use an in-house six-speed automatic. There’s a new grille, bumper, headlights, and foglights, plus a revised rear end. There are also redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels and minor styling changes in the cabin.

The Azera by Hyundai is hardly noticed by car buyers because it has similar issues that the Sonata seems to have; this vehicle is a nice value and the car is dependable, however, it is seemingly invisible in the market today. The Azera was the flagship of the carmaker in 2006, but now it is positioned between the Sonata and the Genesis, making it a vehicle that is always forgotten.

After its début, the Azera endured many changes and some of those alterations have minimized the vehicle’s life cycle. After the entry of the Genesis, the new and enhanced Azera offering better transmissions, style, and decent engines was overshadowed by the Genesis’s entry, the Equus and the enhanced Sonata.

The Azera is definitely a nice buy for the consumer looking for value; this car has a 3.8 Liter V-6 or the 3.3 Liter V-6 motor married to a six-speed auto tranny in all models for 2011. The Azera’s cabin is luxurious for a vehicle of this class, and it drives more like a highway cruising vehicle than a canyon carver.

The 2011 Azera looks a lot like last year’s model, except that the front end looks fresh and crisp. The most distinctive design cue on this model is the side lines above the rear fenders. Cloth eight-way power seats are standard with the GLS; the Limited gets leather, heated seats. There are wood- and metalgrain accents in both models, but the center console trim has changed for 2011 from grained metal to smooth.

The Azera isn’t meant to have sport sedan performance, but there’s relatively little body roll and the ride is comfortable. During instrumented testing, the 2010 Azera 3.8-liter Limited model moved from 0-to-60 in 6.5 seconds, and through the quarter mile in 15.0 seconds at 94.9 mph, numbers that are sure to improve for 2011.

Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and electronic brake-force distribution is standard; so are brake assist, traction control, and stability control. Eight airbags are standard: dual front, driver and front-passenger side-impact, rear side-impact, and front/rear side-curtain airbags.

2011 Nissan GT-R Price, Review & Picture

2011 Nissan GT-R Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The base GT-R has been dropped, leaving the Premium as the only model for 2011. Nissan has added rear cooling ducts to enhance cooling performance around the rear floor. Additional changes include a suspension retuned for a better ride, double clear coat on the fascias, and standard auto on/off headlamps, speed-sensitive wipers, USB iPod interface, Bluetooth audio, and XM NavTraffic and NavWeather capability.

The Nissan GT-R is the carmakers official move into the world of supercars. It has sixty to zero braking that is exceptional and an impressive zero-to-sixty acceleration. It is exceptional in its quarter mile timing too. The vehicle houses a 3.8-Liter V-6 engine that is twin turbocharged. It offers 489 horsepower. The engine is joined to a hand-assembled dual-clutch auto tranny as well. In addition, the torque flow is flawless.

The GT-R has a rear mount trans axle offering AWD functions. The latter improves vehicular weight, acceleration, handling, and braking. On the track and off the track the vehicle’s Brembo brakes are outstanding, even when running laps at Nurburgring. The GT-R offered the fastest production time ever at the Nurburgring track. It is exceptional, well designed, light, nimble, aerodynamically crafted, rigid, and its exterior styling is elegant. The exterior is made of meshed steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber materials.

Nissan designers set out to pen a distinctive supercar, not a typical low-slung exotic; thus, the GT-R is chunkier and more muscular than, say, a Ferrari. It intentionally lacks sophistication, instead looking mean, techno, and macho.

The GT-R features a leather-adorned cabin for four, PlayStation-inspired multifunction display, nav system, Bose audio, heated seats, and Bluetooth. The driver’s seat slides nine inches and raises 1.2 inches. The steering wheel both tilts and telescopes 2.4 inches.

The GT-R’s handbuilt 3.8-liter V-6 uses plasma-coated cylinder bores to ensure optimal efficiency and twin IHI turbochargers to produce 485 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. Its six-speed dual-clutch auto, also handbuilt, seamlessly transmits power via an ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system. A Brembo brake system, along with an all-aluminum suspension with Bilstein dampers, provide race-worthy braking and handling.

In addition to front, side, and side-curtain airbags, the GT-R is equipped with a tire-pressure monitoring system, four-wheel anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, and front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters.

2011 BMW 7 Series Price, Review & Picture

2011 BMW 7 Series Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The 2011 750i and 750Li are the first 7 Series models ever to be offered with BMW’s xDrive All-Wheel-Drive system, and for the first time since the early 90′s, the 740i will be available with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine. While the 760i gets an all new V-12 putting out 535 horsepower at 5,250 rpm, with maximum torque of 550 lb-ft from just 1,500 rpm.

BMW’s flagship offering is none other than the 7 Series; it is offered in more configurations than the BMW’s 3 Series. In addition, the 7 Series is offered with 10 different configurations. Despite the fact that this vehicle is a big sedan, the cabin space is tight. The only time that the larger size of the vehicle is realized is when the vehicle is being parked. However, the 7 Series has plenty of gadgets that will assist in parking endeavors.

The 7 Series sports a 4.4 L V-8 turbocharged motor sufficient enough to power the large vehicle. The car buyer can also choose from a V-12 engine offering if there is a desire for more power on the road. The 7 Series remains flat and poised while handling on-the-road curves.

The 2011 7 Series is built with xDrive, all-wheel drive for the first time since its creation in car buyers can also choose from 3.0 L in-line six engine in base models. Transmission offerings include a six speed or eight-speed automatic transmission, depending upon which trim the car buyer chooses.

If it’s not a breakthrough design like Gen IV’s was back in 2001, the changes created by Chris Bangle and Adrian Hooydonck are still effective in making this 16.65-ft sedan’s musculature look more defined and lending it a lower, sportier stance. The 750iL now even has its own roofline to help prevent it looking simply like a “stretched” standard sedan. The new 7 can most readily be ID’d by the chromed gill on both side panels, which also integrates the side blinker. The new look, the roof, doors, hood, and front fenders all are fashioned of aluminum for weight savings where they count, high up in the structure.

Ample space doesn’t do justice to what you get with the 7 Series. A power driver’s seat is standard across the range, as is air conditioning, cruise control and an AM/FM/Satellite radio with CD player and MP3 connectivity. The trunk is large, with a capacity of 15.1 cubic-feet.

For 2011 BMW is offering more engine options than ever before for the 7 Series: the 300 horsepower turbo I-6 in the 740, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 in the 750i, and the 6.0-liter turbo V-12 in the 760. All 7 Series models are equipped with Driving Dynamics Control, which enables the driver to select from four progressively sporty driving programs with the touch of a button.

Dual front, side seat mounted airbags, curtain first and second row overhead airbags, driver and passenger knee airbag, airbag occupancy sensor, active head restraints, traction and stability control are all standard.

2011 Chevrolet Impala Price, Review & Picture

2011 Chevrolet Impala Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The 3.5-liter V-6 is flex-fuel capable. The Luxury Package adds leather heated front six-way power buckets, flip-and-fold-flat rear seat, Bose eight-speaker audio, one year XM subscription, auto-dimming rearview mirror, universal home remote and heated power side mirrors. Bluetooth is standard on 1LT, optional on 1LS, 1FL and 2FL. New 1FL and 2FL fleet models are similar to LS and 1LT.

Introduced in 2006 is the most recent Impala. At this time, plans for upgrading the Impala are scheduled for 2014. The most recent configuration has minor refreshments tacked onto the original 2000 configuration. Essentially, the Impala is the oldest sedan on US highways, seconding only the discontinuation of the Ford Crown Victoria.

Several years ago, the Impala V-8 SS configuration was discontinued: the vehicle was GM’s last car to offer the outmoded overhead valve 3.5 Liter or 3.9 Liter V-6 motor. The vehicle is offered with a single transmission option: the four speed auto gearbox. This makes the Impala’s features and design outdated. What’s more, the Chevy Malibu is bigger than the Impala and the vehicle will have had two upgrades before its sibling.

The Impala is a large sedan hosting front wheel drive. If the car buyer is seeking a family oriented vehicle or they desire a car offering up enough legroom, the Impala is sure to satisfy. Additionally, since the Impala’s redesign is well into the future, when compared to the Malibu, it’s often assigned a more affordable price tag.

The familiar Impala design continues with no major sheetmetal changes for ’11. Body color side moldings are standard on all models, except on police and taxicab packages. The Luxury Package includes a standard rear spoiler. Impala LT and LTZ feature dual-zone climate control providing a variance of up to 12 degrees. Single-zone climate control is standard on LS. LTZ comes with leather interior standard, while LS and LT have cloth seats.

Ride, handling and performance can best be described as adequate for the Impala’s target audience. With its aged chassis and drivetrain, this Chevy is for the buyer who only cares about value and interior comfort. Fuel mileage, however, is impressive. The 3.5-liter engine is rated 211 horsepower and the 3.9-liter is rated 224 horsepower, about equal to today’s best four-cylinder turbos.

Six airbags, including side curtains are standard. It also has StabiliTrak, four-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control, front belt pretensioners, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) and tire pressure monitoring.

2011 Volvo C70 Price, Review & Picture

2011 Volvo C70 Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The C70 features substantially revised styling via a freshened nose, grille, front fenders, headlights, rear fascia and LED taillights. The C70 has been updated inside as well with a new dashboard, textures, premium leather and unique gauges. Now standard is the 5-speed automatic transmission (the manual has been dropped), 17-in alloy wheels, Sirius satellite radio, plus two new colors, Flamenco Red and Ember Black. Meanwhile, the Premium package has been deleted; a new Convenience package includes rear parking assist and keyless ignition.

The XC70 is a great wagon with all wheel drive. This vehicle is a first rate addition the crossover segment. It competes with some remarkable car models. Volvo has given it plenty of safety features as well including things like instant traction control, electronic hill descent controls, and airbags. If you want a safe vehicle that is an ultra attractive and comfortable offering, the XC70 is a suitable choice. The XC70 2010 is clearly attractive. It has chrome trim around the side windows, a larger front grille, and an handsome exterior to boot.

The C70 enjoys a significant visual update for 2011, including a redesigned grille, headlight assemblies, front fenders, rear fascia and LED taillights. Being a folding hardtop convertible, the C70′s appearance is sleek whether its lid is up or down. The C70′s major update includes a redesigned interior that features an all-new instrument panel, improved textures for the molded surfaces, a premium grade of leather, and unique gauges. A notable shortcoming, predictably, is rear seat space, although the C70 is surprisingly practical vehicle given its mission.

The C70 provides you with exactly one powertrain — the 227 horsepower 5-cylinder turbo coupled to a 5-speed automatic. Fortunately, this is an agreeable pairing, capable of launching the C70 to 60 mph in a respectable 7.4 seconds. While the C70 is a pleasing car to drive overall, the extra weight of a folding hardtop is difficult to disguise, and others in its segment are more nimble overall performers.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates the C70 as ‘good’ for both frontal offset and side impact tests. Significantly, the C70 offers unique side curtain airbags constructed to provide some protection even with the windows down, plus, remain inflated long enough to remain useful in a roll-over.

2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Price, Review & Picture

2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The newest supercar from Mercedes is all new. Unlike the McLaren that it replaces, this car is solely designed and engineered by Mercedes. Even the 6.2-liter V-8, which was sourced from the SL63 AMG, had so many significant changes more than 120 redesigned parts that it has a new internal designation. Top speed is said to be 197 mph.

Mercedes-Benz as well as McLaren were not completely happy with the SLR supercar. The vehicle was engineered by both carmakers. In 2011, the SLR has been displaced by the SLS AMG by Mercedes-Benz. The SLS demonstrates the first time in nearly forty years that Mercedes has crafted a vehicle sporting gullwing doors. Ingress and egress is only minimally compromised with such an addition.

The SLS is just under 183 inches long — slightly longer than the SL — and is a mere 49.3-inches tall. It is rounded corners and aerodynamically slippery, with gorgeous gullwing doors. But it isn’t pretty from every angle.

The cabin is sports-car pure, yet still contains bits of die-cast aluminum brightwork. Its design was inspired by aircraft cockpits; the dashboard has a wing-like shape with electroplated vents. The center console is made from matte metal.

With 563 horsepower and an estimated 3573-pound curb weight, the SLS AMG’s weight/power ratio is an impressive 6.3:1, and it reaches 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Paddles allow quick, easy shifts. Switching from hard acceleration to hard braking and taking the SLS through tight turns near the adhesion limits of the tires don’t bother this car in the slightest. Yet the suspension also excels at absorbing bumps in the road.

AMG’s three-stage stability control is standard on this car, as are eight airbags. Ventilated, perforated compound disc brakes come with the SLS AMG, and larger ceramic carbon brakes are available.
