2011 Chevrolet Avalanche Price, Review & Picture

2011 Chevrolet Avalanche Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche combines pickup truck cues with sport/utility vehicle cues. While the cladding of early models is gone, the truck is starting to look pretty dated. Optional chrome 20-inch wheels do not help. For the Avalanche LTZ 4WD, a two-speed transfer case replaces the previous model’s single-speed case. Body color mirrors become standard on the ’11 LS. All trim levels are offered with optional 20-inch chrome wheels. New exterior colors for the model year are Steel Green Metallic, Mocha Steel Metallic and Inferno Orange Metallic, replacing Laser Blue Metallic and Black Granite Metallic.

The first SUVS like the Suburban began as pickup trucks hosting the station wagon style. The debut of the Tahoe-based, RWD-Avalanche Midgate by Chevrolet changed up the game, and the this vehicle is now in its fifth year. Entering its second generation, the Midgate finds itself in a niche market. This vehicle paved the way for the class and after nine years, there are only two rivals.

The Midgate is flexible, and in this regard, it is unsurpassed. This SUV has superior cargo room with backseats that fold-down. It has an extendable bed with an 8-foot limit. It can be expanded to make more room in the rear seating area. The Midgate’s bed has compartments for storage, they lock, and the bed has drains for keeping beverages on ice.

The Midgate is offered in RWD or four-wheel-drive. It rides and handles like a typical truck , but it has a subpar fuel economy. If you demand comfort, it’s hard to be the spaciousness of this six-seater. This SUV is great for football games, tailgate parties, and riding the roads.

The standard climate control and audio center stack are flush-mounted. Options include remote start, driver information center, tri-zone automatic HVAC, rearview camera, touch-screen navigation and rear-seat DVD with an eight-inch screen that plays iPod-stored videos.

Chevy offers the Avalanche with two Vortec 5.3-liter small block V-8s, the iron-block LMG and the all-aluminum LC9, both with cylinder deactivation. They’re both rated 320 horsepower and 335 pound-feet, or 326 horsepower and 348 pound-feet on E85. Power is adequate for a truck this big, and handling, as you’d expect, is rather clumsy, though 4WD versions are good off-road.

Head curtain side airbags for rollover protection, front-seat belt pretensioners that deploy in rear-end crashes, roof-mounted head curtain bags, stability control and tire-pressure monitoring all are standard. Park assist and a backup camera are optional.

2011 BMW M3 GTS Price, Review & Picture

2011 BMW M3 GTS Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The G-Power BMW M3 GTS with 635 hp completes the standard sprints from 0-100 km/h and 0-200 km/h in 4.2s and 11.9s. Even more impressive: from 100 km/h to 200 km/h it takes the G-POWER M3 GTS 2.2s less than the standard M3 GTS. Top speed is 323 km/h. These figures have been clocked by a German car journal during their latest test of the G-POWER M3 GTS.

The price for the 635 hp G-POWER SK II supercharger system for the BMW M3 GTS is EUR 23,500.000 (excl. tax) plus installation. A version of the renowned and globally proven G-POWER M3 “Sporty Drive” supercharger system, adapted specifically for the BMW M3 GTS raises the standard output from 450 hp to 635 hp and 630 Nm of torque. The ex works reinforced engine block of the BMW M3 GTS along with a forged crankshaft and reinforced con rods are the basis for this increase of the output maximum from 600 HP (standard M3) to 635 HP (M3 GTS).

On the exhaust side, a lightweight, all-titanium exhaust system made by G-POWER delivers the necessary reduction in exhaust back pressure. The exhaust, developed specifically to suit the requirements of the SK II supercharger system, is equipped with 100 cpsi metal catalytic converters. The engine control unit software, which controls the setup for the V8, was also developed by G-POWER for the BMW M3 GTS.

2011 Chevrolet Volt Price, Review, Picture

2011 Chevrolet Volt Price, Review, PictureNew Car Reviews, Unveiled as a handsome concept in 2007, the production Chevrolet Volt is more rounded and aerodynamic, but is also more amorphous. Chevy says the car has no competitors, though it will be compared with hybrids and pure electrics. Expect very limited volume for a few years, at a $41,000 price (or $33,500 less $7,500 in tax rebates), to serve mostly as a showroom-builder for the new Cruze.

The most anticipated vehicle in recent years is not a pure hybrid or electric variation; it’s a Chevy Volt extended range electric offering. The Volt has a 1.4 Liter four-cylinder engine and the aspirated engine, also in the Chevy Cruze, charges the battery made of lithium ion. The Volt’s battery is a 16 kilowatt t-shaped offering, and it is the same battery used to power a Mac or PC.

In average driving conditions, the Volt conquers forty miles on a single battery charge and without the use of gas. When the battery is diminished, the Volt converts over to the 1.4 Liter engine, but the motor doesn’t power the wheels. It delivers more power to the battery pack so the included generator can be powered. Any station selling E85 ethanol or regular fuel is a good location to refuel the Volt. The Volt has a Delta Global Compact platform. Akin to the Cruze sedan, it has a 105.7 inch wheelbase. The Volt’s body, when compared to the Cruze, is four inches shorter. It’s offered in a hatchback four passenger configuration too.

Thanks to the familiar grille and taillamps, Volt is unmistakably a Chevrolet. At just 56.3-inches tall, it’s also lower than many modern family sedans. With its smoothed edges, the design values aerodynamics over all. The interior reflects the high-tech values of the car, with a Mac-inspired brushed chrome center stack and blue-green ambient lighting in the door panels. Expect base to premium trim packages, likely LS, LT and LTZ.

Chevy promises sporty handling and good straight-line performance. It rates the powertrain at 150 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. Suspension is MacPherson struts front, compound twist axle rear. Brakes are four-wheel disc and fully regenerative. Chevy claims operation costs one-sixth the cost of a conventional 30-mpg car. Chevrolet has not yet released the Volt’s list of safety features. Expect similar equipment to the Cruze, with 10 airbags, including front, side curtain bags and knee bags, plus StabiliTrak, traction control and anti-lock brakes.

Bodystyle: Four-door hatchback
Motor/Engine: 1.4L I-4, 16 kWh Li-Ion battery pack

2011 Hyundai Equus Price, Review & Picture

2011 Hyundai Equus Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, If the Genesis represented Hyundai dipping a toe into the luxury sedan waters, the Equus is the equivalent of the company swan-diving into the deep end. The new sedan offers V-8 power and Hyundai’s new six-speed automatic standard, with a premium cabin and more space than in the Lexus LS. Real wood, Alcantara headliner, and massaging driver seat are a few of the amenities that are available.

The Genesis changed consumer opinion about Hyundai so the carmaker decided to bring the Equus, a luxury based sedan, into the American market. The Equus is presently the company’s flagship offering and it rivals Lexus and Mercedes Benz models.

The cabin of the Equus is luxurious, and the Equus is larger than the Lexus LS460 inside. It is however, smaller than the Mercedes S-Class. The Equus delivers sufficient headroom and legroom: it is greater than or equal to the spaciousness of competing vehicles in all cases. Amenities include things like a 13 channel digital amp, 17 speakers, an HD Radio, XM Satellite Radio and iPod integration among other features.

The Equus is fitted with a 4.6 Liter Tau V-8 engine churning 385 hp. It operates on premium unleaded gasoline. This motor is coupled with the six-speed ZF auto transmission. The same engine is optional in the Genesis and Veracruz. The Equus’s design stems from the Genesis, but the car’s body is 7.2 inches longer than the Genesis body. The Equus comes with controlled air suspension, electronic parking, and additional technologies.

The Equus is more conservatively styled than some of the other cars in Hyundai’s lineup, but those that don’t like the aggressive lines of the 7 Series and S-Class may warm to the newcomer from Hyundai. Both front seats are power, and are heated and cooled — and the driver gets a seat massager. Other cool features include real wood trim, cooled rear console, leather-covered instrument panel, and power rear sunshades. Just about every luxury option you can think of, the Equus gets it — standard.

The Equus features a 385 horsepower, which is more than the LS 460 and S550 offer. However, the Tau 4.6-liter V-8, with its 333 lb-ft of torque is mid-pack for the segment and the big sedan’s straight-line performance doesn’t match that of its rivals. The Equus can handle itself when the going gets curvy, especially when you hit the sport setting, which is designed to firm up the suspension. But this sedan is more skewed toward the luxury end of the spectrum, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Four-wheel discs with ABS plus brake assist and stability control are standard. There are nine airbags: dual front, front- and rear-seat-mounted side-impact, roof-mounted side-curtain, and a driver knee airbag. The Equus’ VSM manages several safety systems at once.

2011 Nissan Titan Price, Review & Picture

2011 Nissan Titan Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The Titan receives minor updates for the 2011 model year, including a “4×4″ badge affixed to the tailgates on four-wheel-drive S, SV and SL models. The luxurious SL model gets standard captain’s chairs. And the new PRO-4X/SL Technology Package features a moonroof, a navigation system, and a DVD entertainment system with flip-down eight-inch LCD, remote control, auxiliary input, and wireless headphones

The Nissan Titan was Nissan first truck entering the full sized segment in 2004. It was engineered to compete with Ford F-150s, Chevy Silverados, and Toyota Tundras. It was at one time assembled in Mississippi. The Titan was a huge seller in the US for several years. After economical changes however, truck buyers looked for vehicles offering greater fuel economy. The absence of a new Titan generation reduced sales too.

Still, the Titan remains appealing for the truck buying consumer. It houses a V-8 motor. It vehicle’s exterior is solid, and it has four wheel disc brakes as well as four wheel drive options. The engine is an Endurance V-8 hosting 32 valves. The V-8 replaces the former 5.6 Liter, 385 hp engine with 385 foot pounds of torque. The V-8 is joined to a five speed auto tranny. The Titan’s platform is the ladder frame F Alpha. It is made of tensile strength steel too. It tows 9500 pounds with ease, and it hosts a control arm front, and a solid-axle-rear-suspension. The Titan remains a popular truck.

The Titan exterior wears a bold front end and cab design, highlighted by a standard 138.9-inch wheelbase. Bed lengths range from five feet, seven inches to seven feet, three inches. A nifty bedside bin provides storage for common work gear. Inside, the Titan offers the choice of a front bench seat with column shifter or front bucket seats with a floor shifter. Standard flip-up 60/40-split rear seats provide additional cargo room, and an optional overhead console system adds even more storage options.

A 5.6-liter Endurance V-8 that generates 317 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque, and can be run on E85 ethanol, serves as the sole engine for the Titan. Further, a five-speed automatic is the only transmission, although two axle ratios are offered. All Titans use a front control-arm/rear solid-axle suspension. The performance-oriented PRO-4X model boasts Rancho dampers, a 3.36 axle ratio, an electronic locking rear differential, and 18-inch alloys. Every Titan pickup truck comes with front, front-side, and side curtain airbags. Nissan also fits the Titan with front-seat active head restraints, stability and traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

2011 Jaguar XF Price, Review & Picture

2011 Jaguar XF Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The XF’s 4.2-liter V-8 has been replaced with new direct-injected 5.0-liter V-8s that offer more power. A new high-performance XFR model was added to the top of the range while the Supercharged model bowed out, only to return in late 2010 as a 2011 model with the new 5.0-liter supercharged V-8. A new Portfolio package for the Premium model adds more luxury touches including contrast stitching, suede headliner, a new wood veneer and deep-pile carpets.

Rapidly becoming Jaguar’s volume car, the XF is paving the style revolution for the well-known British carmaker. The XF entered the market in 2008 displacing the aging S Type. It has improved the position of Jaguar in the segment for elite, luxury cars that host grade A engines, exceptional chassis, and modern features.

The XF is offered in several different configurations; it comes as an XF base model sporting a 5.0 Liter V-8 engine with 385-horsepower or you can get the XFR, sport performance vehicle with a 5.0 Liter V-8 engine and 510-horsepower married to a six-speed automatic transmission if you desire. The Jaguar XF is helping the carmaker re-distinguish itself as a high-class car manufacturer; it’s loaded to the brim with exceptional materials and plenty of technologies.

The Premium XF car hosts a portfolio package too which adds on luxuries. Inside one will find wood veneers, contrast stitching, and deep-pile carpeting. The XFR has an edgy exterior and it has enhancements that highlight its sportiness. Certainly, the Jaguar XF will help the carmaker regain the elite luxury car lead.

2011 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Price, Review & Picture

2011 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The Continental Flying Spur is quieter inside than ever before. That’s due to acoustic side and rear glass as well as other tweaks that result in a 5-decibel reduction in interior noise. The suspension has been retuned and, for 2011, all Continentals are FlexFuel compatible: owners can fill their tanks with regular petrol, E85 bioethanol, or a mix of the two.

The Bentley Continental Fly Spur is an exceptional vehicle that literally screams luxury. This ultra-elegant sedan competes well with the Rolls Royce, and the well-appointed, superior performing Bentley Spur stands alone in its class. A car for the affluent, this vehicle expresses one’s taste for excellence.

The Flying Spur sports a 6.0-Liter W-12 motor offering 522 horsepower; this is the same in coupe and convertible offerings. The Flying Spur was redesigned in 2008 and changes were made to the styling of the rear and front of the vehicle. Such changes are minor however. Since its debut in 2005, the Flying Spur has hosted a superior design ensuring that the valet takes good care of this impressive vehicle.

The Spur shares parts with the coupe, and both variants come with All wheel Drive that serves to maximize the twelve-cylinder engine’s potential. Offered in a regular or speed configuration, the Spur has a lovely interior, great driving manners, and a quiet cabin. Triple digit speeds can be achieved, and the Spur transforms the coupe offering and improves its assets and spaciousness.

The Continental GT’s powerful presence is accentuated by the addition of two rear doors. Classic circular headlights combine with an upright grille and large wheels to create a strong styling statement from any angle. Bentley uses at least 11 hides of leather to adorn the Continental’s cabin. The hand-polished wood veneers take two weeks to prepare for each Continental Flying Spur. Needless to say, interior quality is a primary reason to consider a Bentley Continental.

Continental Flying Spurs have a 552 horsepower, 6.0-liter W-12 engine. If that’s not enough, get the Flying Spur Speed, which boasts 600 horsepower and a top speed of 200 mph. All Continentals are underpinned by all-wheel drive, and a retuned suspension was added in 2009. Flying Spur Speed models are 0.4 inches lower than the standard model and have larger anti-roll bars and an upgraded Bosch 8.1 stability control system. Huge brakes ensure strong stopping power, radar-based adaptive cruise control with a follow-to-stop feature, standard all-wheel drive, advanced electronic stability program, rear view camera.

2011 Acura ZDX Price, Review & Picture

2011 Acura ZDX Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The ZDX is Acura’s all-new crossover luxury vehicle and blends coupe-like styling and driving dynamics with the versatility of an SUV. Conceived by Acura’s first female designer, the sharp ZDX flaunts sweeping curves and dramatic angularity, in addition to an all-glass panoramic roof from that is said to be the longest continuous glass surface in the automotive industry.

The Acura ZDX looks like a chopped-top, backswept version of the Acura MDX. The ZDX hosts a 3.7-Liter V-6 motor under the hood joined to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, just like the MDX. The car also sports the Super Handling All Wheel Drive by Acura too. The primary difference between the two cars is that the MDX has a three-row, seven-seater configuration, and it is bigger than the ZDX since the latter seats two passengers and has limited cargo space.

While the ZDX sports as many as five seatbelts, do not let that fool you; the second-row of seating is somewhat cramped leaving enough room for mid-sized children and adults. The cargo capacity is sparse, but the rear seats fold down if you need a bit more cargo room.

The ZDX is clearly not a family-oriented vehicle; it is a coupe-like, luxury sedan with superior styling and AWD. A driver and one passenger can be seated comfortably inside. This car is ideal for the car buyer that doesn’t desire a wagon configuration, and the ZDX competes against sporty BMWs.

Deeply drawn body panels, bold wheel arches, and concealed door handles make it almost possible to forget about the nose – although the chiseled grille works well here. The ZDX is one of Acura’s boldest statements to date. Satin alloy trim, loop pile carpeting and a broad expanse of leather across the dash are dramatic flourishes to this otherwise typical Acura interior. Cargo capacity is heavily compromised, rivaling that of a Honda Fit.

The ZDX’s powertrain is one of Acura’s best. All 300 horsepower and 270 pound feet of torque are sent to the ground via an all-new 6-speed automatic. SH-AWD helps this deceptively long coupe carve canyons with surprising aplomb. A tight chassis and finely resolved electric power steering conspire to make this the best handling SUVesque vehicle Acura has ever made.

ZDX comes standard with the following: Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, dual-stage mutiple-threshold front air bags, 4-wheel anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control.

2011 Maserati Quattroporte Price, Review & Picture

2011 Maserati Quattroporte Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, For 2011, the mid-level Quattroporte S receives the exterior enhancements found on the high-end Sport GTS model, including red-painted brake calipers, black headlight surrounds, 20-inch Multi-Trident silver wheels, and more. Two new packages that group popular options are available for base and S models and all Quattroportes now have the same multimedia head unit from the GranTurismo that features a 6.5-inch display.

For car buyers that desire a premium sedan, an exceptional offering can be had in the Maserati Quattroporte. The Quattroporte is all about attitude and this car delivers an exciting ride. The vehicle has a Ferrari sourced motor making it even more appealing.

The Quattroporte sedan is a four door car; that’s why it’s called the Quattroporte. This car has been on the market for a while now. The 2011 has gotten some visual refreshments and it rivals the S550 by Mercedes Benz. This car has a price tag that is lower than that assigned to the Maserati too. The cost of the vehicle is quite lofty but the consumer won’t experience buyer’s remorse.

The Maserati Quattroporte base configuration has a 4.2 Liter V-8 engine that can conquer zero to sixty in 5.5 second’s time. The S configuration offers more power and speed and it has enhancements comparable to the GTS sport grade configuration. The Sport GTS as well as the Sport have a 4.7 Liter V-8 motor capable of conquering zero-to-sixty in 5.3 seconds in all, not too shabby.

The Quattroporte is one of the sexier designs in its class, whether you choose the base model or the visually upgraded S and Sport GTS trims. The same basic shape has been in production for years and that’s no bad thing. With the addition of an updated 6.5-inch multimedia head unit into all Quattroportes, the interior might not feel as outdated as it once did. There are millions of possible interior combinations utilizing all manner of leather, wood, and Alcantara trim.

Base Quattroportes get a 4.2-liter V-8 producing 400 horsepower. Move to the S model and the top speed is bumped to 174 mph and the engine is a 4.7-liter V-8 with 425 horsepower.
