2011 Infiniti M37 Price, Review & Picture

2011 Infiniti M37 Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, Virtually every aspect of the 2011 Infiniti M is new, including fresh styling inside and out, more powerful engines, improved fuel efficiency, and more technologically advanced features. Resembling a plus-sized G sedan, the M is quicker, thanks to a 330-horsepower V-6 and 420-horse V-8, yet, with a standard seven-speed auto, more fuel miserly. Infiniti’s Forest Air air-conditioning feature and blind-spot intervention raise the technology bar.

The 2011 M by Infiniti will enter the vehicle into the car’s third generation and the car is the flagship offering of the carmaker. The interior is attractive, lush, and well-appointed. The driving manners are excellent too.

The newest M is wider/longer than earlier versions; it has an M37 3.7 Liter V-6 engine or a M56 5.6 Liter V-8 motor. The 2011 spring model will come with the M35 V-6 hybrid and an included battery made of lithium ion. The hybrid will offer the best fuel-efficiency and will be the cleanest car ever made. The M56/M37 will be coupled with an automatic, 7-speed transmission, All Wheel Drive, and will host 20-inch alloy wheels in the sport package. Inside the M is a user-friendly center stack, 10.3 cubic-feet of cabin space, and premium woods and leathers.

Up in length and width but down in height, Infiniti’s fresh flagship wears curvaceous sheet metal draped over available 20-inch wheels (18-inchers are standard). The sculpted fenders and low-slung, upright grille come from the voluptuous Essence concept. A new deluxe touring package adds super soft semi-aniline leather, suede-like headliner, and unique Ash trim hand-buffed with genuine silver powder. Available Forest Air provides humidity control, a breeze mode that alternates airflow, and auto recirculation.

The M37′s 330-horsepower V-6 moves the sport sedan from 0-to-60 in 5.3 seconds and gets fuel economy of 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway to boot. For more go, there’s the M56′s 420-horsepower V-8 that drops 0-to-60 to 4.6 seconds (and fuel economy to 16 city/25 highway). Enthusiasts will appreciate the sport package’s steering wheel-mounted magnesium shift paddles and larger Akebono brakes. A new four-mode (standard, eco, sport, snow) Infiniti Drive system comes standard.

Infiniti’s Safety Shield adds the world’s first blind-spot intervention system (selective braking intervenes to pull the car back into its lane) to lane-departure warning, lane-departure prevention, intelligent cruise control, and distance control assist safety systems.

2011 Volvo C30 Price, Review & Picture

2011 Volvo C30 Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, Newly standard on the C30 T5 R-Design is a new sport suspension with firmer springs and shock absorber damping, and a quicker steering ratio. Both the T5 and T5 R-Design have received all-new front styling for 2011 which includes a new fascia, fenders, reshaped headlights, honeycomb grille, and a more prominent Volvo badge. Orange Flame metallic has been added to the exterior color palate, as has an Off Black/Blonde interior trim.

The 2010 XC90 is an SUV and it is the flagship vehicle for Volvo. The 2010 models have only had a few small changes to their design. The XC90 is offered with either a 3.2 Liter inline six churning out 311 hp or it comes with the 4.4 Liter V-8. The XC90 has a single gearbox: the six speed automatic tranny. The SUV has an AWD option when the consumer gets the 3.2 variant, and AWD is a standard with all V-8 engine options.

This SUV is a seven seater, three row vehicle. It has a nice list of features and plenty of safety specs too: a tradition from Volvo. It has a subpar fuel economy though and only gets 15 miles per gallon combined. It uses regular unleaded fuel, so at least it runs on the lowest priced gas. The 3.2 variant only offers 18 mpg combined in the all wheel and front wheel drive variants. The XC90 is a conservative option. If you want a vehicle with greater styling, you can choose the R Design in the 3.2 variants.

The C30 has always been a polarizing design, punctuated by its excessively large, ovoid glass rear hatch (a design cue cribbed from the classic Volvo P1800). In an effort to spice things up out front, the C30 has received a much more aggressive nose for 2011 model year, including reshaped fenders, elongated, flared headlights and a sportier grille. As is the case with its Volvo stablemates, the C30′s interior is a study in Swedish restraint and elegance and features a version of Volvo’s signature waterfall-look center stack as its central attraction. Select the R-Design trim and you’ll get leather seats with an embossed logo, watch-look instruments and an R-Design steering wheel and pedals.

Previous C30s been slightly schizophrenic performers, offering solid measured performance (for instance, a 6.6-second sprint to 60 mph for the manual transmission model) while lacking the tactile feel to match it. The 2011 R-Design’s sport suspension intends to correct that with 30-percent stiffer springs, firmer shocks, and a 10 percent quicker steering ratio.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s testing has resulted in the C30 earning a ‘Good’ rating for front, side, rear and rollover tests (no data is available from the NHTSA). In addition, the C30 includes Volvo’s Whiplash Protection Seating System, while blind spot detection is optional.

Bodystyles: 2-door hatchback
Engines: 2.5L turbocharged I-5
Transmissions: 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic
Models: T5, T5 R-Design

EPA Fuel Economy
T5 and T5 R-Design: 21 mpg city/29 mpg highway (manual); 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway (automatic)

2011 Maserati Quattroporte Price, Review & Picture

2011 Maserati Quattroporte Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, For 2011, the mid-level Quattroporte S receives the exterior enhancements found on the high-end Sport GTS model, including red-painted brake calipers, black headlight surrounds, 20-inch Multi-Trident silver wheels, and more. Two new packages that group popular options are available for base and S models and all Quattroportes now have the same multimedia head unit from the GranTurismo that features a 6.5-inch display.

For car buyers that desire a premium sedan, an exceptional offering can be had in the Maserati Quattroporte. The Quattroporte is all about attitude and this car delivers an exciting ride. The vehicle has a Ferrari sourced motor making it even more appealing.

The Quattroporte sedan is a four door car; that’s why it’s called the Quattroporte. This car has been on the market for a while now. The 2011 has gotten some visual refreshments and it rivals the S550 by Mercedes Benz. This car has a price tag that is lower than that assigned to the Maserati too. The cost of the vehicle is quite lofty but the consumer won’t experience buyer’s remorse.

The Maserati Quattroporte base configuration has a 4.2 Liter V-8 engine that can conquer zero to sixty in 5.5 second’s time. The S configuration offers more power and speed and it has enhancements comparable to the GTS sport grade configuration. The Sport GTS as well as the Sport have a 4.7 Liter V-8 motor capable of conquering zero-to-sixty in 5.3 seconds in all, not too shabby.

The Quattroporte is one of the sexier designs in its class, whether you choose the base model or the visually upgraded S and Sport GTS trims. The same basic shape has been in production for years and that’s no bad thing. With the addition of an updated 6.5-inch multimedia head unit into all Quattroportes, the interior might not feel as outdated as it once did. There are millions of possible interior combinations utilizing all manner of leather, wood, and Alcantara trim.

Base Quattroportes get a 4.2-liter V-8 producing 400 horsepower. Move to the S model and the top speed is bumped to 174 mph and the engine is a 4.7-liter V-8 with 425 horsepower. Upgrading to the Sport GTS trim and you’ll have one focused Quattroporte, with a single-setting suspension that’s been stiffened 30 percent at the front and 10 percent at the rear.

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo Price, Review & Picture

2011 Lamborghini Gallardo Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, If you prefer your motoring alfresco style, you’ll definitely want to opt for the power-soft-top Spyder version, introduced in late 2009. For the 2011 model year, Lambo is also unveiling a special, limited Superleggera (“super-light”) edition –which drops 154 pounds off the standard Gallardo while also bumping output to 562 horsepower (other performance-enhancing goodies are added, too).

The Lamborghini Gallardo is a stylish, modern, handsome, coveted vehicle. This vehicle sports a 5.2 Liter V-10 with 552 horsepower, twin cam, mid mounted motor. The vehicle also has all wheel drive too. The Gallardo is attractive; it delivers superior speed and impressive stability.

Carbuyers coveting power on the road can opt for the Valentino Balboni edition, the limited edition vehicle is named after the well known test driver. The vehicle has rear drive components, and it has impressive power when you press the gas pedal.

The Lamborghini Gallardo is a vehicle that stands as a cultural hybrid. It sports Italian good looks too. The Gallardo is the result of VW’s acquiring Lamborghini and Audi. The outer body of the car comes from the R8 Audi, and it has similar cockpit features as well.

This car successfully merges Italian soul with remarkable German engineering. The Gallardo is a beautiful sports car. It is designed to prove appealing to the eye and it is an exhilarating drive too. Fast paced, aggressive, and handsome: everything one expects in a sports car formula.

Pure sex. For a design that’s approaching a decade in production, the Gallardo still looks fresh and modern — aided in part by the wild palette of available color options. Giallo Halys yellow, anyone? Yes, you’ll recognize some Audi parts inside, but you’ll ride too well to mind. Included are dual-zone auto climate control, a leather and aluminum steering wheel, and available navigation and rear parking camera.

In “base” LP 560-4 form the Gallardo screams, reaching 60 mph in less than four seconds and gunning to a top end right around 200 mph. And, of course, the lighter, more potent Superleggera edition is quicker still. Also on tap are an adaptive, mega-grip suspension, monster Brembo brakes, and an available E-Gear paddle-shift auto-clutch six-speed. This one’s as fast as it looks. Naturally, anti-lock brakes and stability-control are also standard.

2011 Fisker Karma Price, Review & Picture

2011 Fisker Karma Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The 2011 Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid is an all-new car based on an all-new architecture. Construction of the Karma has been contracted to Valmet Automotive, which has experience building Porches. Fisker recently purchased GM’s former Wilmington, Delaware facility, and plans to produce Fisker vehicles there in the near future. Born from the imaginings of Henrik Fisker, the famed Aston Martin designer, is the 2011 Karma. This vehicle sports a dual electronic motor-powered plug-in hybrid system and Q-Drive that powers the rear wheels. This environmentally advantageous luxury car is ideal for the wealthy wanting to express their refined tastes. Competing with the Telsa, the Karma’s designer wants to funnel funding from earlier luxury cars into more reasonably priced cars.

The Karma is a non-conventional sedan sporting a lithium-ion battery so the car can get 50 mpg derived from its electric-powered engine. Once the charge is depleted the vehicle coverts to the 2.0 L four-cylinder turbocharged engine that re-powers the battery. The design stems from the Chevy Volt configuration. This vehicle covers 300 miles, uses little fuel, and emissions are radically reduced.

The Karma has a sport mode with 403 horsepower too, obtained from the Q-Drive system; this allows the car to achieve zero-to-sixty miles per hour in 5.9 seconds. The battery charges up in 6 hours time too. The sedan will be followed by a convertible: the hardtop Karma Sunset.

The Karma is a long, low and sleek sedan with coupe-like proportions. Its Cheshire Cat grille is unmistakable yet uniquely handsome and large wheels help give it a smaller feel. It is slightly larger than a Maserati GranTurismo. The Karma’s interior is an exercise in restraint, with as few controls as possible while still offering an in-dash navigation and entertainment system. It is likewise luxuriously appointed and wrapped in leather, though final specs haven’t been revealed yet.

Fisker claims a peak 403 horsepower from its Q-Drive powertrain setup in the Karma, and when Sport mode is engaged, Fisker claims a 0-to-60 time of 5.9 seconds, and says the battery can be charged in as little as six hours depending on the connection. An energy-saving Stealth mode is the powertrain’s default setting and limits performance in order to optimize efficiency. Power comes from a lithium-Ion battery pack that can deliver 180 kW of peak electric power. A 260 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine acts as an electrical generator when the battery is depleted after about 50 miles. Specific safety details haven’t been announced yet, but per Federal regulations, the Karma will offer at minimum driver and passenger front airbags and electronic stability control.

Bodystyles: Sedan
Engines: Dual electric rear motors, 2.0L turbocharged I-4 (ICE)/generator combination
Transmissions: Single-speed reduction gearbox

2011 Scion IQ Price, Review & Picture

2011 Scion IQ Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, The iQ is new to the U.S. market. The car has been sold as a Toyota in Europe since its 2008 launch. In the U.S., the iQ’s place at the bottom of the Scion lineup means it has features like turn signal indicators integrated into the side mirrors and a six-speaker sound system that can be fitted with multiple head units.

Today, with the introduction of the Scion iQ for 2011, the Smart Fortwo now has a competitor. The Scion iQ is a renamed version of the Euro Toyota iQ minicar. The Scion configuration has minor changes like darker headlights. The Scion name, attractive wheels, and nice features position the vehicle in line with the xB and the tC.

Toyota identifies its iQ as the smallest 4-seater on offer today, but in truth, your passengers may have trouble squeezing into the back seat area. The iQ has a 3-plus-1 seating configuration. The passenger seat and driver seat in the front are offset. The front passenger seat doesn’t compromise the back seat area, but the back of the driver seat does. If the rear seats are folded you can squeeze in a couple of golf bags. The iQ is a foot longer than the Smart Fortwo. It has a four cylinder motor while the Fortwo only offers a three cylinder engine. The iQ sports the 1.3-L 4-cylinder motor joined to a CVT that powers the car’s front wheels when in motion.

Darkened headlights and Scion badges set the iQ apart from the Toyota-badged car sold in Europe. In the U.S., you won’t confuse the 120.1-inch car for anything on the road, except maybe a Smart Fortwo, which is even shorter. There’s more room inside the iQ than you might expect. Scion claims you can fit four people inside, as long as the passenger behind the driver is a small child. The front seats are offset, leaving more room behind the front passenger.

A 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine producing 90 horsepower is at the heart of the iQ. A continuously variable transmission completes the only available powertrain combination available in the U.S. Suspension is MacPherson struts in the front and a torsion beam rear suspension. The car’s flat gas tank is placed beneath the floor to reduce rear overhang. Ten airbags are standard on the iQ, including a rear-window curtain airbag. ABS, stability control, traction control, Toyota’s Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake force Distribution are all standard as well.

Bodystyles: Two-door hatchback
Engines: 1.3L I-4
Transmissions: CVT
