2011 Chevrolet Corvette Price, Review & PictureNew Car Reviews, A new wheel design and larger cross-drilled brake rotors are available on the Corvette’s base and Grand Sport models. Magnetic Ride Control becomes available on Grand Sport. The automatic now allows paddle use to override the gear selection in “Drive.” New options are contrasting-color headlamps and interior custom color stitching. A USB port and input jack are included with the navigation radio.

Entering the Corvette model’s 58th year is the C6 Corvette now in its seventh year. The last few years of the C6 Corvette have included changes making the vehicle and ideal opposite of the Porsche 911 and a close competitor. The C 6 matches the length of the Porsche 911 and has a tighter body.

A V-8 small block engine powers the C6 Corvette, giving it superb speed, excellent driving manners, and smooth acceleration. Feature refreshments during the last two incarnations have further improved the vehicle’s performance. Mimicking Porsche marketing, Chevrolet expanded the C6′s desirability by offering more configurations. The carmaker offered the LS7-powered-Z06 that took the lead in performance until the entry of the 2009 LS3-powered configuration. A year later, the LS3-powered grand sport was offered: a vehicle that included a performance suspension along with a wider track. This is the reason behind 50% of the coupe and 70% of convertible sales for the carmaker.

The new Z06 Carbon limited-edition model comes with a raised carbon fiber hood, black carbon fiber splitter and rocker panels, black wheels, mirrors and headlamps and a leather and suede interior with body color stitching. Recently added upgrades, like the custom color stitching option and the Z06 Carbon’s interior trim reflects Chevrolet’s attempt to quell criticism that the Corvette’s interior quality isn’t quite up to the rest of the car.

How about a 3.3-second 0-to-60 mph time and an 11.2-second quarter-mile at 130.5 mph? How about 1.1g of lateral grip? Those are ZR1 numbers, of course, but the halo of that $100,000 Chevrolet shines brightly on the more modest LS3- and LS7-powered models, too. Handling has improved with the C6. There’s now better balance to go with the grip. Anti-lock brakes and front and side airbags, with a front passenger sensing system are standard across the Corvette line. Active handling system with stability control is standard. Optional Magnetic Ride Control includes larger cross-drilled brake rotors.
